ABOUT
Hailing from Bangalore, India, Latha Ghorpade exemplifies a profound commitment to service and empathy. Her foundation is deeply rooted in the principles of Hinduism, which influence her actions and convictions. With 13 years of experience as a vocational trainer and special educator, she has collaborated with respected organizations such as Seva-in-Action and Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, in addition to her decade-long involvement with the Rainbow Learning Center, an initiative of the Parents Association for the Differently Abled, where she has dedicated herself to empowering individuals with disabilities.
EARLY LIFE & EDUCATION
Latha Ghorpade journey in special education was born out of personal experience and passion. When
her first child was born prematurely and diagnosed with intellectual development issues, it
sparked a desire to support and empower children with special needs. As she navigated her role as a parent, She pursued vocational training and art courses, aligning her skills with her mission to make a difference. Through this journey, She transformed my personal
challenges into a purpose-driven path, dedicating myself to providing guidance and
support to children with special needs and helping them unlock their full potential.
TEACHING CAREER
With a profound belief in the mantra "Ability beyond Dis-Ability," She strive to work with the
Impossible to make them IM-POSSIBLE. She was earlier associated with Samarthanam Trust for
the Disabled for 8 years. With a sense of purpose and joy, She had the privilege of working in
various departments, including education and supporting individuals with physical and visual
challenges in numerous ways. She have always been a moral support to them helping and guiding
the talented PWDs to reach greater heights. Her journey as a special educator and vocational
trainer has been truly fulfilling, from facilitating her daughter's schooling and vocational
training to extending her expertise to NGOs and educational institutions. She been dedicated
to nurturing the talents and abilities of individuals with disabilities, and currently associated
with PADA (Parents Association for the Differently Abled) as a vocational trainer, art & craft
and support teacher. In these roles, mentor students with disabilities, helping them discover
their creative potential and develop their skills in arts and crafts. Witnessing her students'
growth and development is incredibly rewarding, and committed to providing the
guidance and support necessary for them to thrive and reach their full potential. Through my
work, empower individuals with disabilities to succeed and make a positive impact in
their communities
ADDITIONAL ROLES & ACHIEVEMENTS
Beyond teaching endeavors, embraced various roles and achieved notable
milestones. As a mentor, choreographer, and cultural enthusiast, instilled confidence
and creativity in my students. Moreover, involvement in organizations like Rashtriya
Sevika Samithi [RSS] and one of the group leads in H.S.R Layout Maithriya Shaakhe, South
Bengaluru, reflects commitment to promoting moral values and Hindutva ideology.
As a passionate advocate for empowering individuals with special needs, proud to be
a member of PADA formed in 2013, a parent’s group of organization dedicated to
promoting independent and inclusive living for people with disabilities. Guided by the
principle that "The Hands that rise to serve are holier than the lips that pray," devoted
my life to supporting and guiding those in need. My efforts have been recognized with
prestigious awards, including the National Icon Golden Achiever Awards 2024 given by
Anish Creations, and Best Inspiring Parent Award 2023 given by KN Foundations.
Additionally, Expanded my skills by completing a certified training program in
Imitation and Artificial Jewellery Making under the Prime Minister Employment
Generation Program (PMEGP) scheme facilitated by the Khadi and Village Industries
Commission (KVIC), Government of India, further enabling me to contribute to the
empowerment of others and expanding employment opportunities. Through my work
with PADA and personal endeavors, She remain committed to creating a more inclusive
and supportive environment for individuals with special needs, and humbled by the
opportunities to make a positive impact in the lives of others
OTHER CREDITS & INTERESTS
Latha GHorpade journey isn't confined to the classroom or social work alone. She also explored my
interests in fashion, modeling, and sports. Sports and games, my school days favorites,
grabbed opportunities to participate and compete in various track and individual events.
Bagged trophies and medals (in-house and outhouse) representing NGO. Participating
in beauty pageants, runway shows, and sports competitions has allowed me to showcase
my diverse talents and inner potential. Serving as a source of motivation and support for
talented artists, such as visually impaired vocalist Balasubramanyam, a semi-finalist on
Zee Kannada's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Season 20, by providing a platform through talent hunt
events to uncover and nurture their hidden abilities, empowering them to succeed in
their respective fields and inspiring other disabled talents to pursue their passions.
PERSONAL LIFE
At the heart of my identity, a devoted mother and proud Bangalorean, driven by a
profound belief that actions hold more significance than words. Her passion for serving
others has been recognized through various accolades, including being crowned Mrs.
Elegance in the 2018 State Level beauty contest, Organized by Kalasambrama, Smruthi
Sadhana, receiving the Cutest MOM Title in 2021 organized by Swarna Bharath
Foundation, and being honored with the Karnataka Special Gem Award in 2024 for my
social work and dedication to supporting individuals with special needs, organized by
Anish Creations Fashion League (ACFL). These recognitions are a testament to my
unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on society and being a source of
hope for those in need. Through roles and endeavors, strive to embody the power
of selfless service and inspire others to join me in creating a more compassionate and
inclusive community. find fulfillment in making a positive impact on society, which in
turn inspires me to be a beacon of hope for myself and others
