Tamil film icon Vijay has inaugurated the Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam and revealed the party's flag in Chennai.

    

 Thalapathy Vijay has officially unveiled the flag of his newly established political party, TVK, during a significant event that underscores his commitment to advocating for equality. In his address, he emphasized the importance of social justice and the need to address disparities within society, vowing to dedicate his efforts towards creating a more equitable environment for all citizens. This launch marks a pivotal moment in his political journey, as he seeks to mobilize support and inspire change through his party's initiatives and vision for a fairer future.

  On Thursday, Thalapathy Vijay formally introduced the emblem of his recently established political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). The flag, which prominently displays a floral motif alongside two elephants, is characterized by its vibrant red and yellow color scheme.

Vijay has declared that the meaning associated with these elements will be revealed at the party's inaugural public meeting, which is expected to occur in September.

 The ceremony for the flag launch was a momentous occasion, graced by the presence of Vijay's parents, the esteemed filmmaker SA Chandrasekhar and his wife Shobha. Additionally, the event featured the unveiling of the party's anthem, which was skillfully composed by the acclaimed musician S Thaman.

During his speech at the event, Vijay conveyed his sense of pride and unwavering dedication to the cause, remarking on the anticipation surrounding the upcoming state conference. He assured the audience that preparations are in progress and that he would provide further details shortly. Furthermore, he took the opportunity to formally present the party's flag, which he described as a representation of their united commitment. He emphasized that, in collaboration, they would strive for the advancement of Tamil Nadu.

After the ceremony, Vijay made a solemn vow, stating, "We shall forever pay tribute to the brave individuals who laid down their lives for the liberation of our nation, as well as to those who have relentlessly championed the rights of our community originating from Tamil land. I commit to eradicating divisions rooted in caste, religion, gender, and place of origin, to promote awareness, and to work diligently towards ensuring equal rights and opportunities for everyone. I earnestly reaffirm my dedication to the principle of equality for all sentient beings."

On Wednesday, the Tamil actor expressed in a statement, "Each day presents a remarkable opportunity for a fresh direction and a renewed impetus in the course of history. The 22nd of August, 2024, is a date bestowed upon us by divine providence and the natural world, representing such a significant blessing. It marks the occasion for the unveiling of the flag, which serves as the principal emblem of our Tamil Nadu Victory Club."

The actor, currently preparing for the release of his new film 'GOAT', established the party in February. Although the party did not participate in the Lok Sabha elections, it intends to compete in the assembly elections scheduled for 2026.
